Online Safety at Home
Whilst your child/ren are undertaking 'Home Learning', it is vitally important that they are staying safe online. Below you will find advice for both children and parents/carers to ensure that we can all stay safe online at this time.
Advice for Children
As we have discussed in school, it is important that you continue to be safe online. When you are working from home, make sure your parents/carers are aware of what sites you are on and what you are doing online. If there is anything that you see online that is not appropriate and makes you worried or scared make sure you tell and show an adult immediately. Your parents have also got access to our email address so they can contact us to let us know too.
Below there are also some links to sites which you can go to if you want to report something inappropriate online:
- Childline - for support
- UK Safer Internet Centre - to report and remove harmful online content
- CEOP - for advice on making a report about online abuse
Advice for Parents/Carers
At this time, it is especially important for parents and carers to be aware of what your child/ren are being asked to do online. This includes knowledge of the sites they will be asked to access and who they will be interacting with online.
You may choose to supplement the school's online offer with support from online companies and in some cases individual tutors. It is very important that you are securing online support from a reputable organisation/individual who can provide evidence that they are safe and can be trusted to have access to children.
