Charities

West Cheshire Foodbank

We continue to collect food items donated by our school community throughout the year for the West Cheshire Foodbank and have supported this charity for a number of years. Food items donated by our families and staff are collected in each classroom each week before being placed in our collection box by a member of staff. The foodbank's most needed items are listed on our weekly newsletter. Whilst we support the foodbank all year round, donations are particularly high around harvest and Christmas (when we hold a reverse advent calendar); this encourages the children to think not only about receiving gifts, but also about giving to others less fortunate than ourselves in their time of need.

Comic Relief

Despite half the school being on residential at the Conway Centre, those of us in school on Friday 17th March 2023 raised £51 for Comic Relief this year by dressing up as our favourite Mr Men/Little Miss character.

Children in Need

We will be supporting Children in Need again this year on Friday 18th November 2023. Details of our fundraising will be announced closer to the time, following discussion with our Ethos Group. Last year (2022) we raised £204.25 for Children in Need by wearing spotty sportswear for the day.

Teams 4 U Christmas Shoebox Appeal

Each year we support the Teams 4 U charity by filling shoeboxes with goodies for Christmas for children less fortunate. Doreen came to talk to the children in our celebration assembly on Friday 21st October 2022 with details of last year's appeal. Look out for the leaflets the children will bring home if you would like to support this iniative this year.

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd

On Friday 31st March 2023, we will be supporting the Hospice of the Good Shepherd at Backford with a sponsored Hop, Skip & Jump, all whilst wearing our bunny ears! In 2021 our Christmas fundraising was donated to the Hospice; we had a collection at our nativity concerts and carol concert and the staff also contribute to the collection in lieu of sending Christmas cards.  We also publicise the Hospice's Christmas tree recycling service in our newsletter.

Save the Children

We raised £87 for Save the Children in 2020 by wearing our Christmas jumpers to school on Friday 4th December.

Little Faces

Little Faces is a school in Mombasa in Kenya set up and sponsored by DHL. In previous years we have sponsored two children to attend school. We have also provided uniform for other pupils. Fundraising continues by DHL and they hope to build a new building to house their growing numbers. As our chosen charity (Christmas 2016) we raised £138.05 and Geoff from DHL was also able to match fund this amount. In the past, Geoff has visited school with regular updates which we have shared on this page.
